Do you have perspective flexibility?
When I am working through a problem, developing scenarios, or doing information hunting and gathering, I find that remembering to have this flexibility is critical.
How do you develop this flexibility?
Start with the question at hand and have an awareness and openness for the unexpected. You need to better understand your own bias and how they impact you when you find disconfirming evidence. When you become aware of your own filters then you can start to re-adjust to let more data in, but without becoming overwhelmed. It is like sending out your "radar" and you are hoping for data signals or something unusual to show up. When you see something unusual you start to pay closer attention. But the key here is to remember to continue to adjust the frequency.
For example, if researching the future scenarios and impact of NFTs / Non-Fungible Tokens - look at it from many perspectives - developer, artist, platform/auction houses, skeptic, & edge users.
I used to feel upset at myself for not finishing every book end to end. I adjusted that perception. We are not AI/ML models, and it is not about trying to consume every piece of data or content end-to-end, it is about passing the information through your mind and seeing how it affects your outlook. Don't worry about the bookshelf trophies, worry about your perceptions.
